    As well as pursuing our own searches in the hunt of great new music we thought we might approach the listeners for suggestions.

    So here it is, Cherry Red is looking for ideas for future releases on any of the Cherry Red labels, please don't hesitate to e-mail infonet@cherryred.co.uk with your suggestions.

    Would you like your music to be available for download?
    Cherry Red are looking to hear from artists interested in making their material available for download purchase. We are able to include your material in all major download stores worldwide (including iTunes) and on our own Cherry Red Records download store - all you would have to do is agree on payment terms and provide us with a CD. Please contact Tony Barnes via the contact form, with full details of your material.

    Finaly, as well as our free bi-Monthly newsletter we also have a video bulletins for you to keep up to date with us at Cherry Red.

    For the past month we've been very busy bringing you the best music in the most interesting and inovative ways. You can already buy our music in shops, online, download and by post but now RPM in association with its parent company Cherry Red Records has gone virtual!

    T-Bone Walker was one of the first musicians to play electric guitar on record, and was a major player at the dawn of the R&B era, charting with the classic Call It Stormy Monday in 1948 and building an enviable reputation as a master blues musician and singer over four decades until his death in 1974.

    Grapefruit ‘Around the BBC’ (RETRO817)
    Around the BBC collects all of the known surviving radio session recordings that Grapefruit made for the BBC in 1968 and 1969. These recordings provide a previously unheard side of Grapefruit. The 1968 studio recordings issued by RCA and Stateside Records mostly found on Grapefruit’s “Around Grapefruit” LP (issued in early 1969) are considered as not representative of the group’s true sound. ‘Around the BBC’ lets you hear Grapefruit as nature intended, offering stripped down, high energy versions of the singles ‘Dear Delilah, Elevator’, ‘C’Mon Marianne’, ‘Round Going Round’ and more.

    But best of all, Around the BBC contains several tracks that were never officially recorded or commercially issued by Grapefruit. Highlights include the George Alexander compositions ‘Somebody’s Turning On the People’, ‘Breaking Up A Dream’ and ‘Trying To Make It To Monday’, all prime early 1968 Grapefruit which could have easily found a home on the “Around Grapefruit” LP. …
