Court Yard Hounds are also coming to the UK! Now that's something to look out for... And who would those "very special guests" be?! http://www.last.fm/event/1632982+Court+Yard+Hounds+and+very+special+guests

Hehe, Just read my comment from August! I've got some big news; Brad finally came through, and I'm holding two ticktets to Paisley's UK Show! I've been outside. It sure is a great day for a lot of dancing out there in the streets. There's a place I know about, were the Central Line makes a din. We can try out the emergency brakes. C'mon now what do you say? Man I can hardly wait to sing along to Mud on the Tires!

Thanks for the tip! You guys should also check out Inside Music Row. It's a new country music news show from America. Here's a link to its website http://www.cjmproductions.com/CJM/Inside%20Music%20Row.html I think you can basically watch it online too.

It's stupid that they haven't brought it back, especially as it's now owned by MTV. There are LOADS of MTV channels all showing the same thing, surely they can put aside some money for CMT. They've even got their own shows that they more than likely wouldn't have to get licensing to show!

The reason they gave for stopping CMT Europe is that they weren't making any money from it - which is a load of crap when you think about all the Pop/Rap channels showing the same videos every day....

Hi there. I'm not from the UK, but I think if I want to see some great shows the UK is were to go. So I want to keep an eye on events posted here. I find it very annoying I missed out on the Sugarland show in London earlier this year... Won't let it happen again! :)

LadyPatience: I think we'd all like to see him live! I saw Martina McBride the other day and we get Toby Keith and Taylor Swift in November so it's not all that bad :)

Yes! I am a UK country fan. Currently trying to work out whether there is any chance of seeing Brad Paisley live. EVER.

Call me paranoid, but with all the success Country artists have here, I do not understand why they aren't given any time on radio or tv. Ok, we get the odd interview. And I mean ODD. The interviewers just make a complete fool of some of the artists. For example, when Garth Brooks was here about 15 years ago this woman said to him "But isn't Country all depressing about dead dogs and things". Garth quite rightly pointed out NO. And then there's Alan Jackson. I haven't been able to find out what they said to him, but he has never came back here. And when Alison Krauss was here last year to promote her album with Robert Plant, they almost completely ignored her during the interviews. They would talk to him for a few minutes and then had the cheek to turn to Alison and say "So, what did you learn from touring with the legend Robert Plant?". Should've asked him what HE learned from touring with Alison, who I would see as more of a legend than him!

It's not like Country isn't popular here, I mean come on, the artists tour here all the time, 90% of the time to SOLD OUT crowds of up to 10,0000. Dolly, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferon and Glen Campbell have all been here in the last few years and keep coming back. Even relatively unknown artists like Jace Everett and other newcomers like Tift Merritt will still manage to sell out fairly big places. And the concerts debunk the "old people" myth. Heck, when I saw Sugarland in March, it was mostly people 30 and under. Same with Julie Roberts and Dierks Bentley.

The radio way of thinking works out the same in the music stores. I swear that one time I went in and bought a Johnny Cash album, the guy behind the counter said "Is this for your grandad", I said "No, it's for me" and he laughed at me. I hate those stores anyway, because all the Country stuff is scrunched away in the deepest darkest depths of the place, and since Johnny died they've devoted half of the Country section purely to him. Now I love the man and his music, but is there any need for dozens of "best of" albums? They hardly have any regular releases. It's pretty much the same for the other artists as well eg Dolly. And they are ridiculously overpriced, it'll cost you about $40 for some of them! And if you're really unlucky, your local store won't have a Country section at all, but the Country cds will be in a "Specialist" section....

Not that i'm saying there's anything wrong with other music, infact I like pretty much everything. It's just that over here, radio seems so restricted compared to America. You guys have stations for all kinds of music, whereas we basically have a whole bunch of Pop stations (most of them playing the same stuff, either all older songs or all curent chart stuff), 1 Classical and if you want to hear anything else it's only in a "Specialist" 1 hour program, which I think is a really dumb idea. Another thing is hardly any station seems interested in interacting with listeners, only the "Specialist" shows seem to bother taking requests.

This is something I posted on an American site earlier, that sums up my feelings on the subject. It's kinda long... The reason I first got into Country was because it sounded so fresh and new and exciting, even older stuff. The fiddle, steel guitar and all that just blew me away. But my main reason is because of the lyrics, every song tells a story. Just everything about it was an antithesis to what they play on the radio here. Like I said all my friends kept saying it's music for old people, but even at 13/14 I could relate to a good few of the songs, like Clint Black's State Of Mind or George Strait's Check Yes Or No. Heck, I still find it hilarious how all those people that hated Country back then seemed to love Shania Twain, Lonestar and Faith Hill - bit hypocritical that.

I think that's rubbish. There's plenty of money in country music. I'm pretty sure there are lots and lots of us around who would watch/listen. We used to have CMT over here, why not bring it back? Even if just for a trial period, or even as part of an already existing or established station. I'll listen to WSM, that sounds cool.

They say that it wouldn't make then enough money and there's no demand for it - yeah, but the there's a demand for dozens of channels playing the same pop stuff.... My favourite stations are KMOO (Texas) and WSM (Nashville). Love WSM because it has the Opry on it.

That would be AWESOME! It's weird that out of all the millions of channels on Sky there isn't a country radio station or a music channel (there was 33 music channels last time I counted!) Anyway, for now I listen to 99.5 WYCD (Detroit) and K-Frog 95.1 (California) Check them out, they're pretty good with interviews and stuff too.
