I'm on there as Sneltrekker also.

A few things bother me about the layout though.

    * The mainpage only shows the last 2 posting ... with no next/previous buttons. That's one already.

    * When logged in, there is no log out button.

    * For that matter, there is no log in button either. I registered, and to log in I needed to use the link in the mail, for lack of a link on the site itself.

Those are the main things really. Please make it easier to log in and out, and easier to access postings older than the 2 most recent ones.

Hmm, I didn't really notice the login thingy. I mostly stay logged in all the time so I didn't realize it. You can easily sign out from the admin page (top left). YOu can login back again by pressing the register button on the bottom right and then clicking on "login"

You can also see the recent posts by pressing the "Show Infoarea" button which extends the view. I'm planning on adding more things there in the future as well. If you think that the main page should show more than 2 posts by default let me know and I'll look into it.

  • Black and white with seemingly random highlights and accents (blue, purple, whatever) to offset it. I much prefer white on black if only since it's easier on the eyes.

Registered as Minion4Hire btw. I'm too lazy to be creative. =P But I might pull some material together for a half interesting submission in the next week or so.

Hehe, don't worry. what you have to remember is that not all submission need to be full fledged essays. You can write anything related to our purpose, even if it is just 3 paragraphs. For example, see my latest post.

  • There definately needs to be a more accessible archive menu, such as on a side panel or a specific tab, not just in the infoarea at the very bottom. I would agree that three to five recent posts on the front page would be appropriate.

Also I agree with evulfuson; green or turquoise. Turquoise preferrably, in place of the pink, and perhaps for other things.

  • I just wrote a paper today on the Branch Davidians for an ISU, unfortunately the teacher wouldn't accept it since she's a bitch like that (she's also catholic and hates me). I guess I could type it up and post it on the site. Eventually.

  • The thing was also due yesterday, but I couldn't find my research notes (and I'm willing to bet the teacher stole them because I was arguing with some other people in the class that religion is bad a few days before). So I just wrote it today during guitar class :(

  • I think the thing that annoys me most in the writing moment because I can't concentrate my eyesight very well (and neither my brain but that's different ^^) is the general layout. The style is good but the banner is less so. It annoys me with the bubbles or something.

And then it's black on white, not recommended.

Also change the menu, I looked a bit on the design but you should emphasis the highlight in a different why indicating you are "here". Maybe another color?

I got nothing against dark sites in general but right now I feel this is a bit too much... just because it's called the Antichristian Phenomenon doesn't mean we dislike colors even if I understand that black and white is something that goes well along with the theme.

Update: I've now updated the permalink structure so that posts include the authors name in the form of (/author/post-name/). Makes linking to the page a bit nicer methinks and you can also use your own rss feed somewhere else if you wish (as an example see my own site)

The feed you need is this http://www.antichristian-phenomenon.com/author/<authoralias>/feed

Obviously replace <authoralias> with your own alias.

  • I have an idea: say in July sometime, when many things about the site have smoothed out and become somewhat regular, we do a sort of special on various members and authors... sort of a backstory/interview. This way, readers could get a better feel for the authors, and who the authors are, how they formed their beliefs, etc.

Each writeup (written by the author/member themselves) would simply be answering a few questions, such as "How did you become Antichristian?" and "What do you believe in?"

We could initially make these writeups into one blog post, then move them into their own tag/page where new readers could look up the information on the authors they follow with just one or two clicks, or new readers could find an author they identify with TO follow.

  • Ok then. All the authors will answer this short series of questions, get the answers to db0 or I either via post in this forum or PM by July 1, so that by then, the layout will be a bit more static, a few more regular visitors, and maybe even more regular authors. Then we can compile the initial post with all the answers, and maybe the days following create the new tab and move the answers there.

I have a busy weekend, so they'll hopefully be up in a few days. No rush though, we have almost a month.

  • For all authors of ACP! A 10 question "profile" quiz!

When you answer these questions, remove the explanation in parentheses and replace it with your actual answer. Get your answers to me via pm or email (anath@antichristian-phenomenon.com) by July 1. I will compile and edit them (just for typos and grammar).

Also, please send a profile picture of some sort. They may or may not be included in the future. This picture should be OF you, but not necessarily a school picture or formal portrait. A spontaneous snapshot or lightly photoshopped picture will work fine. If they end up being used, I'm most likely going to be using either my current icon or something like this or this. So you can see, its not too formal... and again, it might not even be used. We'll see how things work out.

Please take your time and provide well thought out responses.

    Questions:

    1. Why are you Anti-Christian?
(Include in this answer a brief summary of why you disagree with Christianity, be it specific hypocrisies, disagreement with certain bible quotes, etc. However, this question is not for not personal experience (though they can be mentioned briefly) that is question 2, or a summary of your personal beliefs, that is question 5; this is simply WHY. In addition, include an approximation on how LONG you have been Anti-Christian, phrased so that it never has to be updated... i.e. "Since I was 6" instead of "for 14 years".)

    2. What personal experience do you have with Christianity?
(Include here important encounters with Christians, being raised Christian, attending Christian schooling, being an altar-server, involved in youth groups, camps, trips, revivals, etc. This question is separate from #1 to create more validity for personal experience, and not tie it inextricably with the WHY. Some Christians will argue "You're only Anti-Christian because you had a bad experience". This is not always the case. For example, I am not Anti-Christian because I was harassed in a Christian school, I am Anti-Christian because I have studied it in depth and disagree with it. BUT were I to tie my experiences in Christian schooling to the WHY... see? Also this is to prove that many of us have had experience WITHIN the religion, and we're not just ignorant outsiders.)

    3. Are you strictly Anti-Christian, or are you against other religions/belief systems as well? Why?
(Include here feelings towards Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Mythologies, etc. It doesn't matter if you do it in list format, or generalize them all together. This question proves that we are against more than just Christianity, and defines it plainly.)

    4. What parts of Christianity or religion are you NOT against?
(This might be a hard one, but if you can name at least one aspect or specific thing, it will prove that we are not full of blind hatred, but have weighed and measured the pros and cons carefully. Think hard about this question, and please don't just put the reactionary "Nothing".)

    5. Briefly, what DO you believe in?
(Include here a summary of personal beliefs, obviously. Please try to keep it brief... I know it can be hard, but save lengthy explanations for articles. If you have already written an article or another intensive blog post on this topic, a link to the post will suffice, as it will save room and give readers an option to read a lengthy dissertation! This is here to prove that though we are Anti-Christian, we have moral codes and have thought through our options enough to forge our own beliefs. We are not lost.)

    6. What does your Username mean?
(Here, briefly explain why you chose your username, since many times one's username says something about the author)

    7. What are your music preferences?
(Since our origins hail back to here at last.fm, we started out as a group of like minded music lovers. Its fitting that music gets its own question! Just don't be an elitist jerk about it. :P)

    8. Briefly describe from where you are coming and going:
{In no specific order, this question entails:
~Home country / town and a bit of information about the area.

~Education level as of September 2007. Mention the date in your answer so that it doesn't have to be revised in the future. For example "In the 2007/2008 school year I will be a High School Junior" or "In September 2007 I will be entering my first year of college" instead of "I am a Junior". If you are out of school and not going to college, mention your year of graduation from high school. If you are graduated from college, mention that year of graduation. If you are at a college/graduate school level, mention what University you are/will be attending. Do not mention the name of a high school.

~Work. If you are employed, mention what you do. You don't have to provide what location of McDonald's you work at, or even what corporation. Alluding that you have a job is enough. We want to show that some of us are "productive members of society", and not just bums that have nothing better to do but write articles for an internet site.

~(intended)College major / future goals. If you don't really have one, its ok to be vague or say that you are undecided.

    9. What are your Political Views and Philosophy on Life?
(Many of us are interested in more than religion. Do you identify with a political party, are you an anarchist, whatever you want to answer. Answer briefly, please, and try to be somewhat politically correct with what you say. For example please don't write "JEWISH CONSPIRACY! OVERTHROW ZOG! FREEDOM FOR ALL ARYAN BROTHERS! 88!". That's a bad idea and will destroy our credibility. While I hate political correctiveness, it is necessary in this question. Also include other philosophies here.)

    10. What other hobbies and interests do you have?
(Again, showing that we are human and have interests. This is more of a fun question for a bit of insight into who we are as people. Include here things such as sports or musical instruments, perhaps your favorite subject in school, your pet, or your passion for a specific cause. If you have your own blog or website, here is a good place to throw in a mention. Its wide open, just keep it somewhat brief.)
