    The end of Peccatum?

    It's from their official site...

After eight years of creating within the borders of Peccatum, Ihsahn and Ihriel have decided to go elsewhere with their music. Ihsahn is going solo and Ihriel will continue her work in Star of Ash. They both still run Mnemosyne productions and Symphonique Studio, and will definitely continue to explore the outer boundaries of dark music in many years to come – ‘To boldly go where no man has gone before’. Ihriel and Ihsahn would like to take the opportunity to thank all Peccatum fans and listeners, and hope they will find equal pains and pleasures in their new musical endeavours.

That sucks so fucking much, but you can still get a feeling of Peccatum in Ihsahn's new album sooo.

  • Ihriel is also making new material as a part of her Star of Ash project.

Looks like it's not the end of Peccatum after all. I read on a site (in norwegian, sorry) that Ihriel and Ihsahn are making an album with a fiddle player!

Knut (with the fiddle) record some of his music and gives the samples to them and they gonna "play" with it.

The article says something like this:
The challenge has been to give the fiddle a central role in the music, and in this project it has actually replaced much of the vocals. Everything around the fiddle is our expression, while the fiddle is still has been in the center of the audiopicture and the composition.

The project is very varied. It has elements from progrock, electronica and it also has black metal where Ihsahn for the first time is gonna sing on Nynorsk (alternative norwegian language) on Knut's lyrics Grimen.
    __________

It's basicly a kind of a remix of some folkish songs which Knut has made. I've never heard anything by Knut Buen or even heard of him before but Im rock hard ready for this release!
