Century egg. Not an animal. But it could have become one. And it is really weird.

IF I SEE THAT FUCKING CAT ONE MORE TIME...

    Your mom.

Well. That would certainly explain her extraordinary look of disappointment.

Perhaps you need a little more practice.

Today is just tomorrow's yesterday... a day early.

    unusual enough? =3

  • venison, wild boar, ostrich, springbok, zebra, kangaroo and shark.

    Ants coated in chocolate.

    Crickets coated in chocolate.

    A scorpion coated in chocolate.

Take a look at your local traditional food too, the chances are it'd have the vegans up in arms. Being Scottish, I eat haggis and black pudding pretty often.

Haggis is, for the uninitiated, basically offal. It's cooked in a sheep's stomach, for goodness' sake. :D

Black pudding is a type of sausage...

"Black pudding is boiled pig's blood in a length of intestine. In the UK our puddings are usually bound with cereal with suet or cubes of fat added."

So yeah, I've eaten some things that're probably classed as unusual, and they were all very nice.

  • I had an ostrich burger once. It was pretty good. Reminded me of ground turkey.

    kangaroo, ants, snake...
kanga steaks are the best! got some in the fridge marinating for tonight

  • Well, what is an unusual animal to eat? That depends on where you live.
I haven’t eaten any animals that unusual.
Reindeer would probably be considered unusual in most parts of the world.
    Ostrich is quite unusual here.

If you haven't tried reindeer yet, what better time than christmass?

"No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record."
  • im afraid the wierdest animal iv had is squid...i thought it was an onion ring ... only after eating it i was told it wasn't

    Yeah, I made that mistake.

Flies, duck, internal organs make me gag, and I regularly strip my own stomach lining and digest it, although that's involuntary and I don't taste it very often.

And worms are good, i'm thankful I didn't chew it even as a child, apparently they do taste like shit. So best to just slurp 'em down.

THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.

    Oysters & Pheasant

I went out for a posh meal the other week and had Oysters to start and Pheasant for my main. The Pheasant was wonderful, but I will not be ordering Oysters again!

Manchester so little to answer for
  • Kangaroo was probably the most unusual...
Followed by deer, and yet I'm ashamed of myself... it was really really good though...

  • i ate a sea cucumber when i was 8 cuz i thought it was like a land cucumber but you know...under the sea.

    i've also eaten boiled snails.

and pig brains!(what? i'm asian)...they're creamy. we had to stop though once mad cow disease started going (apparently pigs can have some form of it...)

  • The slightly odd animals I've eaten at some point in life are kangaroo, camel, crocodile, ostrich...

I've also eaten stuff like squid, rabbit, veal etc but I consider those to be pretty normal food-wise ;-)

  • Horse. It wasn't that nice. Kinda tasted like low grade beef.

I forgot to add buffalo, crawfish and elk.

I was going to eat bear once but thought I'd get cold (eat bare ... the pun doesn't work as well in typed form).

And back to the task at hand...

    Chocolate covered raisins.

Good lord, I'm really having problems playing by the rules here.

But I guess if you think about it, a raisin would make a pretty strange animal. Huh? Huh?

    Fine then.

Erm. I've eaten bison. But that's pretty common.

But I've eaten lots of typical Norwegian food, that might be unusual to others. Whale, moose, reindeer. Many kinds of fish.

My best friend had polar bear once.
