Easy steps to start a Revolution

  • Easy steps to start a Revolution

    I think every generation should have a revolution. It’s always better to start now then later when there is nothing left to change. There are people who want to change the world, but are they doing it? NO! They just sit in front of a computer and talk rubbish about other people, but they also are responsible for that what is happening now and how it this system controls us. I think people should always question everything even if it is good or bad, an advantage or a disadvantage. In a world where who was previously labelled as rebel, freedom fighter or resistance movement is now called terrorist, so it's harder to see a reason for that behaviour: Movements driven by poverty imposed by rich debt heavy societies. But lets not mix this with Al-Qaeda. This is really a terrorism organization that has nothing to do with freedom, but with religion.

    A revolution is a major undertaking, but, as history has certainly shown, it is not impossible to start one!

    Steps

    1)Choose your location carefully. Before you decide to incite a revolution, you should first consider whether or not your idea will find support. Unfortunately, if the people in an area are financially secure or otherwise happy, a revolution will usually not occur. It is thus very important that you choose a place with at least one of the following:

    oA very high unemployment rate, above 25% or so;
    oA repressive regime with many enemies;
    oSevere class tensions, and deep poverty;
    oLots of bored young people

    Remember that you are calling upon the people to join you; you must act as though you are 'helping them help themselves'. This should be apparent even if you are secretly planning to rule them post-revolution. You'll still need their help to topple the existing government.

    2)Gather and appoint a passionate group of rebel leaders. You can't do it all yourself; you'll need help. Your cabal must be philosophically united and willing to take direction. If you intend to act as an administrator, representing your movement, learn to delegate the "heavy lifting" early on.

    3)Rally the troops. Get the word out; the more people who hear about what you're doing, the more you will find who are willing to join the cause. Demonstrations of the size of your following can help to solidify the ranks and draw in new members; so, get out on your soapbox, fill the public square, and preach it to the choir.

    4)Use propaganda -- lots of propaganda. A hard-hitting smear campaign focused on the failings and evil deeds of the current rulers could be decisive, since this will effectively foment the anger of the masses and quickly increase the size of your movement. (You're bound to have at least one psychology student in your inner circle -- they make excellent Ministers of Truth.)

    Tips

    •Remember your history. Study previous revolutions to discover why they succeeded or failed.

    •Make sure your cause is noble, or can be made to sound noble. Use words like 'democracy', 'unite', 'chains', 'proletariat', 'permanent', 'oppression' and 'freedom'.

    •Watch out for the police and the local governors. Unless you have already co-opted them, they won't take too kindly to what you're trying to do.

    •Stockpile weapons and ammunition beforehand. Nobody will sell to you once the revolt has begun, and you may need quite a bit of ordnance.

    •Make sure that your closest assistants are smart enough to help you, but not smart enough to replace you. Sharing power is always a bad idea once the revolution has been successful.

    Warnings

    •This may get you into serious trouble depending on where you are attempting to lead your revolt. You may wish to make absolutely sure that revolt is the only choice available.

    •Since revolutions do tend to 'devour their children', you'll want to make sure your will is up to date. (Remember: if you are successful, you'll be a mighty hero; if you fail, you'll be a dead terrorist.)

    •Keep in mind modern technological advances could make preparations dangerous and secret meetings much more difficult to arrange. Never use a computer to plot a coup. You can, and most likely will, be traced. If you are trying to revolt against a dictatorial, theocratic, or otherwise oppressive regime, keep in mind that your chances of getting a second chance are slim.

    Things You’ll Need

    •Small red or black book to hold up and point at.

    •Soapbox or podium.

    •Defining physical characteristic, easily caricatured. (This is key. Try to be original. Note that the following have already been taken: facial hair; military uniforms; tri-corn hats; unusual glasses; medieval Muslim attire; affected down-home-country accents).

    •List of enemies.

    •Red pen for crossing off names.

    •Composer. (Revolutions need music.)

    •Guns, guns, guns.

    •The tacit support of a superpower or two.

    He's the kind of guy that you just gotta see if you can,

    Your Legal Rights

    Because you possess this little collection of mostly illegal concepts, you
    should be aware of your legal rights IF arrested (hey, it happens to the
    worst of us).

    Your Legal Rights are::

    1) Have a hearing before a magistrate or judge, as soon as possible after
    you are arrested.
    2) Be notified of the charges against you.
    3) Have a reasonable bail set, if bail is granted.
    4) Have a FAIR, IMPARTIAL trial by jury.
    5) Be present at all stages of the trial.
    6) Confront your accusers. (without the baseball bat)
    7) Have your lawyer cross-examine the witnesses.
    8) Have your lawyer call on witnesses on your behalf.
    9) Be tried for a crime only once.
    10) Receive neither cruel nor unusual punishment if you are convicted of a
    crime and sentenced.

    NOTE!!!: These rights are for after you are arrested, and do not include the
    reading of the rights, etc. If these rights are violated in ANY way, that may
    be cause for a mistrial, or even total release.

    We have a part in this...
  • And also....

    NOTE 2!!!
    These rights only apply if you are an American citizen and where the relevant authorities wish to honour them. These two conditions are almost never met in respect of those who seek to alter the status quo.

    If you are not an American citizen, you may have any and all of the above rights abrogated, and you may be sent for unlawful incarceration as an enemy non-combatant (eg Guantanamo Bay), or you may be imprisoned in a 'Black' site (ie secret prison) located within the territory of a friendly dictatorship.

    If you are an American citizen, you may be unlawfully transfered to the territory and custody of a friendly dictatorship for the purposes of cruel and unusual punishment in a process known as extraordinary rendition. Trial and/or conviction are not usually considered to be necessary precursors to the adminstration of said punishment.

    If your revolution has already proceeded to the degree where an open challenge to the status quo is already evident, a state of emergency will be declared and the relevant authorities will do exactly as they please, including the suspension of the constitution and the imposition of martial law.
