I'll try and choose something. Let's go:

    1. Cryptonomicon by Neil Stephenson
    2. Il nome dela rosa by Umberto Eco
    3. Wiedźmin by Andrzej Sapkowski

  • That's it. Thank You.

  • Hello :)

    Only three? Heart-breaking choice ;)
    But...

    1) One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
    2) Hopscotch - Julio Cortazar
    3) One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Ken Kesey

(ohh, On the Road- Kerouac, Dwanaście - Świetlicki /polish writer - really good one/, Name of the rose - Eco... and many more)

  • Oh my God, three? I'm not completely certain about this choice, but:

    -"Catch-22" by Joseph Heller,
-"One Hundred Years Of Solitude" by Gabriel García Márquez,
-"Slaughterhouse-five" or "Sirens of Titan" by Kurt Vonnegut (oh please don't tell me to choose between those two)

(there must be something about books with number in its name!)

But that's not enough - also Palahniuk's "Fight Club", "Wizja lokalna" by Stanisław Lem, Bohumil Hrabal's "Krasnosmutnienie" (I don't know english title...), "It's still quiet on western front" by E.M Remarque, King's "Hearts in Atlantis", and, oh my God, many, many more...

    1) The Sound and the Fury -William Faulkner
    2) Dune - Frank Herbert
    3) Elric of Melnibone - Michael Moorcock

I have read each one of those multiple times. The interesting thing is when people ask me my favorite author I would respond with Michael Moorcock and then William Faulkner. Frank Herbert wouldn't even make it in my top ten. But Dune is such a masterpiece.

Now, quite honestly my favorites change regularly due to being a voracious reader and to having varied moods. :D

But, thinking about it today, I think I would list:
    Mrs. Dalloway (Virginia Woolf)
    Persuasion (Jane Austin)
    Phantastes (George MacDonald)

These may not be my firm top three, but they are certainly in my top ten and I'm drawing a blank of any that place higher at the moment.

  • it's impossible to pick three - so this is more like listing the three that comes first in mind.

the god of small things (arundhati roy)
    indian nocturne (antonio tabucchi)
angels of the universe (einar már guðmundsson)
