Just switched from Exaile to Goggles on my laptop :) I will still mainly be using mpd and various frontends though, because I like to have the daemon running on my desktop and control it with anything, but on my laptop I just want something light -> Goggles :)

Great music player :). I've been looking for a good one and amazingly from several available Linux players, none met my needs. Then Goggles came :). Thanks!

Love how fast goggles loads. It does everything i used banshee to do, but about 10x quicker and with about 100mb less dependencies! Amazing.

Hey Sander, love the artwork for gmm. Ever thought about opening up one of those Zazzle shops? Wouldn't mind having a T-Shirt with the logo, or a mousepad.

Well, to your left there's a column containing your entire collection, sorted by whatever criterium you want(I like to have artist, then album as a subset). Then you drag an album(or individual tracks) into the middle column. The middle column is a playlist you can edit on-the-go, while it's playing the tracks one by one(or random, if you check a box or something). Let me look up a screenshot somewhere... http://tweakers.net/ext/i/1231078031.png this should do it. Just ignore the right column and I guess you'll understand.

I do love this piece of software: fast, lightweight and usable... And I do love the fact that it's based on fox rather than gtk or qt!!!

Agreed with pickboy87. No other player was able to cope with my 700G music collection on my old hardware. Excellent piece of software :)

Thanks for this media player. Much simpler than Amarok and incredibly fast. Does everything I need with no bloat. My arch box loves you :)

In other news, the October 2009 issue of Linux Format (#123) has Goggles Music Manager featured in its Hotpicks section. Or so I heard. Haven't seen it myself yet, since B&N still carries the september issue.

Hey gogglesguy! I'm having an issue with last.fm submissions and gmm. The submissions are working with gmusicbrowser and amarok, just not gmm. Goggles is telling me username and password do not match. I did triple check username and password, changed the password here at last.fm, deleted .goggles dir, and .foxrc. Same issue with the new beta from svn as well.

Ohhh THANK YOU so much!!!!!! =) It helped alot. I didn't have Bitstream Cyberbit, I settled for VL PGothic, whatever that was - since it had both Chinese and Japanese characters. Thank you for that tip!!! XD ~Night

The boxes usually indicate that the current font doesn't support displaying those characters. I suggest you change the font in the preferences panel under appearence to one that does contain the characters (like for example bitstream cyberbit which contains a pretty complete set of unicode characters). Hope this helps!

Awesome player. VERY lightweight and native Last.fm support is a BIG plus. (Except, I used to use songbird w/official client, but it was wayy too slow. >.<) Awesome job, now I can actually play games and have music open at the same time without an FPS loss haha. (Since you're open to comments: Goggles is awesome and lightweight, but of course Songbird is a beast and really slow, but is great as a showoff player. Oh on a big minus, but okay for most users - my unicode? id3v2 I think - songs tagged in Chinese, Japanese and Korean as well as artists have rectangular boxes instead of characters.) ~Night

Not directly through the genre list it self. Here's a workaround: You can just select a genre that you like and then select all resulting tracks and drag those instead. No gtk2 version is planned. I like to keep it fast :)

Awsome work, is there a way to add al songs from a genre to the playlist? The all x albums isn't selectable nor draggable. Do you perhaps envision a gtk2 version in the future?
