  • FIXED: in a loop with one track only (length: 0:27 + scrobbler tells me: won't scrobble) -> works when I deactivate "Discovery Mode"

step I + II show the problem (being in a loop)
step III: shows what helped (deactivating Discovery Mode)

    I. scrobbler desktop client:
    1. using tag: (*) (**)
    2. rql
    3. it always plays this track (scrobbler tells me: won't scrobble)

II. also with chrome browser same, rql

III. when I deactivate Discovery Mode (**):
it works, I get also other tracks

nothing more investigated yet, could someone check also please?
is this due to: when tracks are too short or perhaps somehow "just" a bad selection on the tagged songs?

    system:
    Ubuntu 10.10
    scrobbler 1.5.4.26862
(**) I used for step I + II at combofm:
    a. repetition + mainstream on left
    b. activated Discovery Mode

(*) last.fm page tells: Built by 2 people (Used 1,784 times)
    In your Library (1,624 uses)

    edit: add in title FIXED

a bit of explanation which might help:
Discovery mode prefers tracks you haven't listened to for a longer time period. Mainstream to the left maybe makes this effect even stronger. But its really strange.
The reason the track does not get scrobbled is that it is shorter than (<=) 30 s

  • Thanks for further explanation.

So, what do we do then? wait until others get in a similar situation?
who should be adressed? last.fm team (then we could e.g. add a feature request), you, ... ?

I guess you have to wait until the library problem is solved =) It's no use bugging the staff atm
