How is it correct to write the band and artist names in Bulgarian?

    Text in English below:

    Hello,

    This is a brief guideline of how it is correct to write the band and artist names according to the Bulgarian grammar. These rules are universal,excepting all cases when the artsts themselves have decided differently

    1. and most important: all artists and band names should be written in CYRILLIC, why this is so important, you can read here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrillic_script.

    "Щурците" is correct (+), "Shturtsite" is incorrect, "Милена" is correct (+), "Milena" - incorrect, "Хиподил" is correct (+), "Hipodil" is incorrect.

    2. as per Bulgarian grammar rules: ALL PROPER NAMES and NICKNAMES should be witten with a capital letter. ALL PREPOSITIONS, COJUNCTIONS, PRONOUNS, etc. are written in small letters.

    "Дони и Момчил" is correct (+), "Дони И Момчил" is incorrect.
    "Дони и Нети" is correct (+), "Дони И Нети" is incorrect

    3.as per Bulgarian grammar: ALL NOUNS that are no nicknames must always be written in SMALL LETTERS unless they are the first word in the title.

    "Нова генерация" is correct (+), "Нова Генерация" is incorrect
    "Обратен ефект" is correct (+), "Обратен Ефект" is incorrect
    "Кокоша глава" is correct (+), Кокоша Глава" is incorrect
    "Нови цветя" is correct (+), "Нови Цветя" is incorrect.

    These rules are fundamental and will help the names of all bands and artists appear properly on Last.fm. Please correct them according to these rules.

    Thanks!
  • BMTH - There Is A Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep It A…

    Originally written for my RYM.

    Time to re-write my ridiculously fanboyish review. First of all, this has to be one of the most hated metalcore bands of all time, for various reasons some of which are quite valid. First of all, Bring Me The Horizon employ a very metrosexual image which may piss off some "trve" metalheads who are annoyed by this for some reason. Also, BMTH has been enjoying all the media attention they have been getting for the seven years of the band's existence, and employ new age philosophies, like veganism and so on.

    So, now let's get to the music. This band has always had a rather large metal influence, which has done them the bad favor of being in the average metalhead's field of vision. This, of course brings more negative attention to the band. They sounded like a heavier and more hardcore version of At the Gates on their debut album Count Your Blessings (which has an unrealistically and hilariously low rating here), which sounded a bit naíve but had plenty of hooks and quality riffs. Also, it's production is excellent.
    Then the band drastically changed it's sound. Suicide Season hardly has any death metal elements and relies much more on the simple song structures and hard hitting metalcore. Still music for teenagers, still attracting a ton of hate (this band got both the "worst band" and "best band" awards by Kerrang!, pretty indicative don't you think?).
    Then there's THIS album. Sounds nothing like the previous two. First thing to make an impression is the elaborate cover art. A person in a ritual robe and mask, one half being white, female and holding a key and the other being dark, male, injured and holding a ritual dagger, both united by a keyhole. There is a hint to the artwork in the band's "Visions" music video. Second of all, there's a lineup change. Jona from I Killed the Prom Queen on guitars and additional vocals. He's been in the scene for a very long time and is definately partially responcible for the band's drastic change in sound.

    When you play the album you notice the stylistic change immediately. The album is far from formulatic. There are much more post-rock and ambient elements (first used on the title track of the band's previous album), samples and electronica. Second of all, the band frequently uses atmospheric keyboards and guest vocals, the beautiful Canadian pop singer Lights being on two songs (sings the mantra on "Crucify Me" and a major part of "Don't Go"), You Me At Six's clean vocals on "Fuck" and The Chariot's vocalist on "The Fox and the Wolf". This adds a huge amount of diversity to the album.
    Also, Oliver Sykes has changed his vocal approach a lot. His style is roughly a mixture of Johnny Rotten (Sex Pistols) 's snarling, Barney Greenway (Napalm Death) 's roaring and Martin Van Drunen (early Pestilence, Asphyx, Hail of Bullets) 's growls , especially on the deeper parts in songs like "Blacklist" and "The Fox and the Wolf". This gives the band a very distinct sound, since most metalcore bands just rely on the generic scream-clean chorus-scream formula.
    Roughly I'd call this a metalcore album. The hardcore attitude is still here with the background shouts and occasional mosh parts but musically this is largely metal. It's much closer to the metal formula with the riff, chorus and solo part (yes there are solos here), with the song structures being dynamic and not always typical, sometimes being quite progressive.
    I'm giving this 5 stars for two reasons:
    First one is the fact that the band did a major stylistic change for the third time, and is willing to experiment and improve in the stagnant genre of metalcore, which is commendable.
    Second one is the sheer quality of the songs. It's been ages since I've heard such a strong collection of songs, all of which are both very memorable and innovative.
    Overall this is probably the best metalcore album since Converge's Jane Doe and one of the best metalcore albums of all time. An album far ahead of it's time.

  • Unique non-active (or suspended) bands list (selected by me) [03.03.2012]

    - Balkan Electrique (Poland) - [split-up] Synth Pop/Balkan Folk Music. Possibly the most underrated polish band. They combined balkan folk with pop music at the truly bad time for such activity on polish market. After (official) regained independence, the Poles were hungry for Western culture, which hopes them help to break away from the east. Collectively, rejected everything that was associated with the east and glorified the west. Then came hip-hop, McDonald's and first capitalistic millionaires. Sad times. Poland has always been a link for west and the east. Providing balance and cultural dialogue, sometimes being a buffer zone. Losing over time, but also gaining the experience. Just like Balkan Electrique. Now they are still underrated and more unknown to the world. Pity because their music are actually excellent and addicting.

    - Dunkel:heit (Norway) - [suspended?] Extreme Industrial Metal/Electronic. One full-length album called Obey. Music inspired by Ministry and Norwegian industrial band Munch. Extremely rare piece . Try type "dunkel:heit obey" in google or check out my blog ;)
    ---===<(o)>===---

    - Elysium (Poland) - [split-up] Awesome band from Wroclaw (Breslau)! Full of energy, beautiful, expressive melodies in melodic death metal formula with polish gothic influences. Split-up in 2007 leaving as with five good albums and one long demo tape.
    Official site: http://elysium.metal.pl/
    ---===<(o)>===---

    - Anorexia Nervosa (France) - [suspended?] Symphonic Death/Black Metal. Well-known band but worth to talk about. My favorite from France. AN bring the fresh air into Symphonic BM. Sounds powerful and decadent. New Obscurantis Order are best album to start listening.

    ---===<(o)>===---

    - The Man Called Tea (Poland) - [split-up] Highly progressive & psychedelic music with Industrial influences. Have only one home-made release. Album 100% free in the net. MySpace only. Can't find official website. Maybe not existing anymore. Anyway the mp3's was there. Full album "Sketchpad #1" and few another mp3's. Type http://www.mediafire.com/?6443i5rfg07sb9c for download :D
    ---===<(o)>===---

    - Myrkskog (Norway) - [suspended] Extreme sound-wall, Death/Black Metal. Fuckin' powerful and addictive for me. Good, speed and heavy riffs. Have two albums. Official website not existing anymore. Only MySpace.
    ---===<(o)>===---

    - Sirrah (Poland) - [split-up] Gothic/Doom Metal. One of the best polish band (maybe even the best). Have two albums and one ep.
    ---===<(o)>===---

    - Svann (Poland) - [split-up] Atmospheric Gothic Rock/Metal. One-album project. Very unique sound and beautiful, atmospheric compositions. On vocals Anja Orthodox from Closterkeller.
    ---===<(o)>===---

    - Underground Moon (USA) - [split-up?] Industrial Rock. Only one album released in fall of 2001 the "Underground Moon". Composed by Dominic Moon (Jeff Pilson - ex-Dokken, ex-Dio). The well played material but now it gone old. However it's a good album and worth to listen out.
    ---===<(o)>===---

    - The Sisters of Mercy (Great Britain) - [split-up] One of the best bands of Gothic Rock. Unfortunately they stop recording after little misunderstood with a label and now this is only live band. Most atmospheric album is Floodland.
    ---===<(o)>===---

    - Will (Canada) - [split-up] Industrial/EBM/Martial Industrial/neoclassical. Will was a collaboration between Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly, Conjure One), Chris Peterson (Decree) & vocalist John McRae. They produced one album and EP in the early nineties but remained inactive afterwards. On guitar, band supports Jeff Stoddard. John McRae, Jeff Stoddard and Chris Peterson continued working together on their Decree project. Will was great and successful attempt to merge EBM/neoclassical and martial industrial together.

    Still mad at gravity.
    Crossing the empty roads.
    Still ill from insanity.
    Consumed from harmful thoughts.

    I don't need the sun to grow.
    The beast inside I follow.
    It becomes darker where I go.
    They are frightened, they're my foe!

    I will not surrender.
    They can't reach my mind.
    I'm a defender,
    of my own kind.

    I'm gettin aggressive.
    Of the chain now.
    She's possessive.
