That's a great list, but you could have remembered some animations, imho.

All Pixar and Miyazaki films are great. You also have Persepolis, Mike and Molly, Summer Wars, How To Train Your Dragon, 5cm per second, Les Triplettes de Belleville, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Disney Classics like Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty and The Beast and also some Satoshi Kon movies.

    All great options ;)

Ralph Bakshi is my favourite director of animated pictures. I did really miss out on a lot but I guess I just went for pure Live-Action film in the end.

  • And I just noticed I mentioned Mike and Molly instead of Mary and Max, these sitcoms are making me sick.

Btw, I've never seen Ralph Bakshi works, I should give it a try.

Barry Lyndon :D Now I see why you commented on my almost forgotten profile. ;)

Hey, I love such lists, maybe because I'm more of a moviegoer than a music maniac. Your list could pretty much be mine, too. :) I've already seen 37 movies out of your list and heard about the rest (I'm going to see them too).

Kubrick, Herzog, Bergman and Carpenter are among my favorite directors ever.
But I especially love the fact that you have " Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" there, in my opinion it's one of the most underrated and misunderstood films ever made. And "The Wicker Man", wow, this movie stayed with me long after I watched it - a truly intelligent and disturbing classic.

And as everybody adds something, I recommend almost all Luchino Visconti movies, breathtaking masterpieces for me, "Gruppo di famiglia in un interno " being my favorite.
Also not long ago I saw "Ondskan" (2003), a Swedish film that is really worth watching.

  • Choosing just 50 films is difficult but The Truman Show is up there.

  • A Clockwork Orange
    The Shining
    Lost Highway
    Blue Velvet
    The Godfather I -II -III
    Pulp Fiction
    Reservoir Dogs

The 7th Seal ( Det sjunde inseglet)
    Singing in the Rain
    Being John Malkovic

Cool list MiyuDeadLiving...I don't think I mentioned any Cronenberg or David Lynch in my list but they have films worthy of being in it.

Apocalypse Now isn't my favourite film of all time.

All the Halloweens? There is only like 2 good ones.

Neither of them are Rob Zombies.

I'd probably scrap one of my 50 to include, the Exorcist, I thought I had added it but it's seminal.

It's probably one of the greatest films ever made.
