Wedding/reception songs for cool people

  • Wedding/reception songs for cool people

    Hello internet friends.

This is my first topic I have created. I am a little nervous. I am listening to Katy Perry in all of my ears so I might prevent a panic attack.

Anyway, I have been informed that I have unlimited influence over which songs are played at my Best Mate/Friend/Buddy/Pal/Buttchum's wedding and/or reception. When I immediately said "Alice Cooper: Poison," I was greeted with a dirty look and an implied slap in the face. When I said "Scorpions: Rock You Like a Hurricane," I was given a smile and an implied handy.

So I reach out to you, dear internet friends.

I have ~two weeks in which to compose the playlist for the wedding and/or reception. Help me, internet friends, you're my only hope. What should I play?

PS. Anything with the words/phrases "twat," "getting married is for peasants," or "space travel is the future of the global economy" are prolls frowned upon.

If any of my suggestions are stupid don't hesitate to tell me.

(lyrically, this one might be a bit too sexy)

All of these are spectacular, although I nostalgia'd hard at the Sixpence one. Thanks!

Please do. Now I've got a lot of slower songs, I'm looking for faster ones for the Cocktail Hour that we're apparently having.

You want some more upbeat 'dancey' fare?

(on reflection, i'm not sure if the last one is very appropriate... ;p)

  • I have no suggestions being that I don't know what your friend and his soon to be wife likes, but I would love a Heavy Metal wedding.
    However, my guests probably wouldn't.
    {but it would be MY wedding, dammit!}

Fuck the guests. I'd love to make a heavy metal wedding myself.

The best part of heavy metal wedding-playlists is that they can be used again at burials (the same reason why family members who keep nudging me during the first saying "You're next right?" will get the same at the second). So here's part two:

<Kiell> so it was my mate's funeral the other day
<Kiell> the parents asked his girlfriend to choose a song that he liked.
<Kiell> and between them they picked out "Bombtrack" by Rage Against The Machine.
<Kiell> So, just before the coffin disappeared to be cremated, Zach de la Rocha is screaming "burn, burn, yes you're gonna burn".
    <Kiell> Funniest. Funeral. Ever.

Well in my opinion, the playlist needs some altering if it's gonna be used in a funeral. Funeral Doom Metal sounds like a perfect thing lol.

Metal weddings! PFFFT! When real men get hitched they insist on nothing but the finest .

Weirdly i've yet to find any interested parties (and by interested parties I mean women), its almost as if they are put off by the idea of skinheaded shirtless fat white men shouting about national socialism over tape offal. What kind of weirdo wouldn't like that at their wedding?!
