  • [OSX 10.7.3][iTunes 10.6.1] 261+ tracks cached, but won't scrobble. SUPPORT NEEDED

    troubleshooting methodology:
    1. added last.fm to firewall exceptions, no
    2. turned off firewall, no
    3. diagnostics => reconnect x100+, no
    4. change password on last.fm and the client, no.
    5. reinstalled the Last.fm client, no
Edit: before you suggest that I didn't follow the troubleshooting guide either, I did: everything in Section B and C.

It's been like this for about three days, here's a screenshot: http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/6238/screenshot20120418at447.png

and here's a copy paste of the log for the iTunes plugin: http://pastebin.com/zHfkhANi

and here's a copy paste of the log for Last.fm: http://pastebin.com/7xesyGuG

I think this is everything I can give support for information. Something to note: you can see my now playing on my profile when I play music, but they don't get recorded. please solve this.
here are also pertinent threads I've researched, but support has NEVER been able to help. Please pass this message on to the codemonkeys, as I think this might be out of the normal range of general staff's troubleshooting abilities.

edit: the "scrobbling 50 tracks" in the corner of the screen shot says that, but never actually registers to Last.fm.

  • Hey,

We've responded to your support email with some tips, however here are some notes:

    - Scrobbles over two weeks old won't scrobble (you can use the universal scrobbler to add any missing scrobbles).

    - Try uninstalling the app, and removing any residual files This will nuke your cache!!!:

The easiest way to do this is to open the Terminal app, and paste the following:

    rm ~/Library/Preferences/fm.last.*

    and

    rm -rf ~/"Library/Application Support/Last.fm"

    Then try reinstalling.

    - Does anything new scrobble?

    - Try out the new beta client.

    Cheers!

    Matt

  • Well, none of the tracks are over two weeks, and I lost a good 500 scrobbles, but that's okay, the new last.fm software is sick :)

  • here's a copy of the email for those having the same problems. Wasn't really helpful to me, but may be for others

    Hello,

Thank you for your e-mail. We are sorry you are experiencing trouble
scrobbling the tracks to your library.

The cached scrobbles, are they older than two weeks? If they are, they won't
    scrobble to your profile.

To make sure than from now on you don't have any issues scrobbling, please
un-install the scrobbler, open the Terminal app and paste the following:

    rm ~/Library/Preferences/fm.last.*
    and
    rm -rf ~/"Library/Application Support/Last.fm"

That will clear any residual files from your computer.

Now you can install the new software beta version through
    http://www.last.fm/group/audioscrobbler+beta

    We hope this helps.

    Regards,
    The Last.fm Support Team
