saturday was good, not fantastic though. i almost feel bad for spending $35 on that day. and their whole sustainability mission? why so many overpriced plastic bottles everywhere?

When Dan Deacon played at the First Unitarian Church back in February he started doing "Silence Like the Wind" and then halfway through his laptop battery died, so someone got him a new battery and then he started doing "Wham City" and halfway through that his laptop froze.

gogol bordello was so amazing. i love how eugene smashed the wine bottle and came down and thanked everyone after his set.

oh! gogol bordello was perrrfect! i came out of it smelling like butt, though. probably because the people dancing were the smelliest motherfuckers ever.

VW was boring...and they showed it too...but definitely agree that dan deacon, crystal castles, and gogol made that festival...mates of state performed well though im not into the music much...didn't like dan's set being cut short, but he made the best of it, and nice running snowing...and i saw enough of a larger man in short shorts to last me for a good couple years...hope you guys plan on coming to b-more for whartscape (or dirty grundle fest apparently) in a month from now

A circle pit during Mates of State would have been hilarious.

    22 jun 2008 Svara
  • Blairsapan

that was more like a running circle...fast paced walking pit. with a train under a really long bridge and a fat dancing guy......pit/hootananie.

Snuck in, so glad I did. Vampire weekend was the most boring band I have ever seen. Was great to see Dan Deacon/Crystal Castles/Mates of State again, and Gogol Bordello was so good.

ohh and i heard something about a big circle pit starting up during the mates of state set...no i kid...i would imagine a lot of dancing but not much passed that...though this is philadelphia so i have no idea

  • Blairsapan

this is probably a really stupid question. but do you think there will be major pushing or just standing around enjoying in the crowds? i am deciding if i should bring a bag.
