Das Amphi Festival 2010 unterstützt Missbrauchsopfer!

Am Freitag den 23.07.2010 fand im Kölner Theater am Tanzbrunnen das „Amphi Festival - New Talents Special“ statt. Ab 20.00 Uhr lieferten sich vier talentierte Bands einen musikalischen Wettstreit um die Eröffnungsposition des Amphi Festivals 2010.

Nachdem sich im Vorfeld alle teilnehmenden Bands ihre Startposition per Ebay-Auktion ersteigert hatten, konnte das Publikum vor Ort mit einer kleinen Spende den Ausgang des Wettbewerbs bestimmen. Am Ende setzte sich die Leipziger Band ZIN mit deutlichem Vorsprung vor den zweitplatzierten Boundlezz durch. Divamee und Novus UK belegten die weiteren Plätze.

Neben den Auftritten und der Wahl zum Newcomer des Amphi Festivals 2010 stand an diesem Abend speziell der Kampf gegen Kindesmissbrauch und die Unterstützung der Opfer im Vordergrund. Während sich die Band Divamee auch musikalisch mit diesem Thema auseinander setzte, stand ein Gewinner schon vor Beginn des Abends fest: „Dunkelziffer e.V.“!

Sowohl die Kollekte des Abends als auch die Einnahmen der Ebay Auktionen gingen dem Verein zur Betreuung von Missbrauchsopfern zu. Bis zur Verkündung des Ergebnisses um kurz nach Mitternacht kamen auf diese Weise insgesamt 2.646,38 € zusammen, welche die Initiatoren des Amphi Festivals, Kai Lotze und Marco Goethel, anschließend auf die Summe von 3.000,00 € aufstockten. Als Dankeschön für das ausverkaufte Amphi Festival verzichteten sie zudem auf den ursprünglich vorgesehenen Anteil zur Deckung der abendlichen Produktionskosten und überreichten einen Scheck über die komplette Summe von 3.000,00 € an Jasmin Falck von „Dunkelziffer e.V.“.

Das gesamte Team des Amphi Festivals bedankt sich bei allen Bands, Besuchern und Helfern, die dieses Projekt mit ihrem unermüdlichen Einsatz unterstützt und den Opfern des Kindesmissbrauchs mit Ihren Spenden einen wertvollen Schritt hinaus aus der Dunkelheit ermöglicht haben.

The Amphi Festival 2010 supports victims of abuse!

On Friday 23.07.2010 the „Amphi Festival - New Talents Special“ took place at the „Theater am Tanzbrunnen” in Cologne. Beginning at 8 pm, four talented bands stepped into a musical competition for the opening position of the Amphi Festival 2010.

After each of the participating bands had to secure their starting position through an Ebay auction, it was up to the audience to decide the outcome of the evening with a small donation. In the end ZIN from Leipzig took a clear victory over Boundlezz in second place. Divamee and Novus UK occupied the further ranks.

Apart from the shows and the search for the newcomer of the Amphi Festival 2010, the evening focused on the fight against children abuse and the support of its victims. While the band Divamee for example works up the topic in their musical efforts, one winner of the event was already known from the beginning: “Dunkelziffer e.V.”!

Like the collection of the evening the donations from the Ebay auctions were raised in favour of the association, supporting victims of child abuse. Until the result was announced shortly after midnight, 2.646,38 € came together this way, which the Amphi Festivals initiators, Kai Lotze and Marco Goethel, increased to a total of 3.000,00 €. As a special recognition for the sold out Amphi Festival they also stepped back from their agreed share for covering the production costs of the evening and presented a check with the full amount of 3000,00 € to Jasmin Falck, representing “Dunkelziffer e.V.”.

The entire Amphi Festival Team thanks all bands, visitors and supporters who made this project possible with their tireless efforts and donations, giving the victims of child abuse the opportunity for a valuable step out of their darkness.

vielen Dank für ein phantastisches Wochenende im Kölner Tanzbrunnen! Bereits zum zweiten Mal in seiner sechsjährigen Geschichte ausverkauft, versammelten sich am Wochenende des 24. & 25. Juli 2010 16.000 Besucher aus Deutschland und dem weltweiten Ausland in Köln, um gemeinsam ein friedliches und stimmungsvolles Fest mit 37 Künstlern auf 3 Bühnen zu feiern.

Dazu rockten ASP, Eisbrecher, Blutengel, Combichrist und viele weitere Top Acts der Szene das Publikum mit außergewöhnlichen Auftritten. Jeweils ab dem Mittag bot das Theater am Tanzbrunnen zusätzlich interessante Vorträge, Lesungen, Musical Comedy, Filmvorführungen und vieles mehr, bevor am Abend die Party-Area mit über 20 DJ aus aller Welt das Kommando übernahm.

Nach dem Festival ist bekanntlich vor dem Festival. Thank you for a phantastic weekend at the Tanzbrunnen, Cologne! Sold out for the second time in the six year history of the festival, 16.000 visitors from Germany and countries worldwide gathered in Cologne on 24. & 25. July 2010, to have a peaceful celebration in high spirits with 37 artists on three stages.

While And One and VNV Nation inspired the audience as headliners on the main stage, the “Staatenhaus” presented a true summit of the industrial- and electrolegends, featuring Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly and Project Pitchfork. Further ASP, Eisbrecher, Blutengel, Combichrist and many other Top Acts of the scene enthralled the audience with outstanding performances. Each day at noon the “Theater am Tanzbrunnen” opened with interesting talks, readings, musical comedy, film screenings and much more, before the party-area took command of the evening with more than 20 DJ´s from all over the world.

As you know, after the festival is before the festival. Während And One und VNV Nation als Headliner in den Ring steigen, dürft Ihr Euch mit Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly und Project Pitchfork auf ein wahres Gipfeltreffen der Elektro- und Industriallegenden freuen. Dazu rocken Euch ASP, Eisbrecher, Blutengel, Combichrist und viele weitere Top Acts der Szene. Das neue Rahmenprogramm im „Theater“ mit Vorträgen, Lesungen, Musical Comedy, Filmvorführungen sowie der gigantischen Aftershowparty mit über 20 DJ´s aus aller Welt sorgt für abwechslungsreiche Unterhaltung aus allen Bereichen der Szenekultur.

Bändchenausgabe:

Die Ausgabe der Festivalbändchen ist bereits am Freitag den 23.07.2010 möglich! Folgende Ausgabezeiten sind vorgesehen:

1. Kassenhäuschen Tanzbrunnen: 16:00 Uhr – 22:00 Uhr
2. Jugendpark Köln: 16:00 Uhr – 22:00 Uhr (nur in Verbindung mit Amphi-Campingticket)

Am Samstag 24.07. und Sonntag 25.07. erfolgt die Ausgabe des Festivalbändchens jeweils ab 10:00 Uhr am Haupteingang des Tanzbrunnens. Campingarmbänder werden an allen Tagen ausschließlich im Kölner Jugendpark ausgegeben!

Die Kassenschalter des Tanzbrunnens sind wie folgt für Besucher, Gäste und Presse besetzt:

Reservierte Tickets können unter Vorlage der Reservierungsbestätigung zu folgenden Zeiten an der Tageskasse des Tanzbrunnens bezahlt und abgeholt werden:

Neu: Amphi Lounge & Restaurant auf den Rheinterrassen!

Erstmals in diesem Jahr nehmen auch die Kölner Rheinterrassen am Amphi Festival Teil. Im großen Parkettsaal des Restaurants befindet sich eine Amphi Lounge in der Ihr die Möglichkeit habt à la Carte zu speisen. Der Gastronom des Tanzbrunnens, Rhein Connection, hat sich darüber hinaus etwas Spezielles für Euch einfallen lassen. Am Sonntag den 25.07. ist von 11:00 Uhr - 18:00 Uhr in der Amphi Lounge ein Brunch geplant. Zum Preis von 18,00 Euro könnt Ihr dort in dieser Zeit soviel und so oft essen, wie Ihr möchtet! Die offizielle Amphi-Festival Pre-Party findet am 23.07.2010 gleich neben dem Kölner Hauptbahnhof in einer der schönsten Kölner Locations, dem Alten Wartesaal, statt. Auf zwei großen Areas könnt Ihr Euch auf das Event einstimmen und gemeinsam abfeiern. Bei der letzten Pre-Party haben über 1.400 Partygäste mit vielen Musikern der auf dem Amphi-Festival auftretenden Bands gefeiert.

Der Biergarten vor dem Wartesaal ist ab 21:00 Uhr geöffnet, die Party beginnt ebenfalls um 21:00 Uhr. Besitzer eines Amphi-Festival Tickets zahlen lediglich 4,00 EUR Eintritt. Ohne Ticket beträgt der Eintritt 8,00 EUR. Weitere Infos unter www.memphis-team.com.

Hinweis zu den Indoor Bühnen:

Wie bei den meisten Festivals mit mehreren Bühnen kann es auch beim Amphi zeitweise zum Erreichen der maximal zulässigen Kapazität kommen. Dies kann die Bühnen im Staatenhaus und im Theater betreffen. In diesen Fällen kann es zu einem vorübergehenden Einlassstopp kommen, der aber umgehend aufgehoben wird, sobald wieder Besucher die Hallen verlassen. Wir bitten um Verständnis, dass uns die Sicherheit und das Wohlbefinden unserer Besucher sehr am Herzen liegen.

Dear Amphi fans,

the moment we´ve all been waiting for is lying directly ahead. This weekend the Amphi Festival 2010 opens its gates for 16.000 visitors from all over the world!

While And One and VNV Nation are stepping into the ring as headliners, you can look forward to the legendary Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly and Project Pitchfork, shaping the summit of electro- and industrial scene. In addition to that ASP, Eisbrecher, Blutengel, Combichrist and many other top acts of the scene are about to rock you. Further the new supporting programme at the „Theater“, including talks, readings, musical comedy, film screenings and an enormous aftershowparty with more than 20 dj´s from all over the world, is covering an entertaining range that spans the variety of the scene´s culture.

Before we get started, we have collected some important final information for you:

Wristband exchange:

The festival wristbands can already be obtained on Friday 23.07.2010! The following times are planned for the exchange:

1. Box office Tanzbrunnen: 16:00 o’clock – 22:00 o’clock
2. Jugendpark Cologne: 16:00 o’clock – 22:00 o’clock (only in connection with an Amphi camping ticket)

On Saturday 24.07. and Sunday 25.07. the wristband exchange takes place at the Tanzbrunnen´s main entrance, beginning at 10:00 o’clock. On all days the camping wristbands can be obtained at the Jugendpark Cologne only!

The box office at the Tanzbrunnen will be occupied for visitors, guests and the press at these times:

The reserved tickets are to be payed and obtained at the Tanzbrunnen´s box office between the following times against your submitted confirmation:

We explicitly warn you to buy tickets from street dealers. These tickets might be faked. Owners of faked tickets will not gain access to the festival ground.

New: Amphi Lounge & Restaurant @ „Rheinterrassen“!

This year also Cologne´s „Rheinterrassen“ will take part in the Amphi Festival for the first time. In the big parquet hall of the restaurant will be an Amphi Lounge, where you have the opportunity to feast à la carte. Furthermore the Tanzbrunnen´s caterer, “Rhein Connection”, prepared a special idea for you. On Sunday 25.07.2010 between 11:00 o’clock and 18:00 o’clock they scheduled a brunch at the Amphi Lounge. During that period you can eat there as much and as often as you like for 18,00 Euro! Amphi Festival New Talents Special:

With Divamee, Zin, Novus UK and Boudlezz four hopeful newcomers are stepping into the competition for the final Amphi Festival slot on Friday 23.07.2010 at the “Theater am Tanzbrunnen”. We would be glad to see you, supporting these bands in large numbers and to vote your favourite into the Amphi programme with a little donation. By this donation you´re actively supporting the team of Dunkelziffer e.V., who will receive the collection of the evening. Admittance is free and only for Amphi Festival visitors. After the result has been proclaimed, we recommend you to stop by at the official Amphi Festival pre-party!

Official Amphi Festival pre-party at “Alter Wartesaal”:

The official Amphi-Festival pre-party takes place on 23.07.2010, directly beside the main station in one of Cologne´s most beautiful locations, the “Alter Wartesaal”. On two big areas you can groove into the festival spirit and celebrate together. At the last pre-party, more than 1.400 party guests, including lots of musicians from the festival line-up, enjoyed the celebration together.

The beer garden in front of the Wartessal open at 21:00 o’clock, the party itself begins at 21:00 o’clock as well. With Amphi-Festival Ticket the admittance is only 4,00 EUR. Without ticket it is 8,00 EUR. For further information please check out: www.memphis-team.com.

A note on the indoor stages:

Like on most festivals with more than one stage it may also happen at the Amphi Festival that the maximum permissible capacity of a stage will temporarily be reached. This might concern the stages at the „Staatenhaus“ and the “Theater“. Occasionally a temporal admittance-stop might occur, which will be removed as soon as visitors are leaving the hall. We ask for your kind understanding, that we care for the security and the welfare of our visitors.

Die Berliner Dark-Pop-Band Blutengel wird bei ihrem Auftritt auf dem diesjährigen Amphi Festival mit einer besonderen Überraschung aufwarten. The Berlin-based Dark-Pop-group Blutengel is preparing a very special surprise for their concert at this year’s Amphi Festival. In collaboration with the Quilla Dance Theatre, headed by Swiss choreographer Sarah Keusch, and with the dancers of the Naway Dance Company, Blutengel will enchant their audience with a dark fantasy epic that is bound to take them into another, magical world. AMPHI FESTIVAL 2010 - RAHMENPROGRAMM
Während auf den Konzertbühnen erneut 34 Bands das Amphi Festival mit musikalischer Unterhaltung der Extraklasse versorgen, dürft ihr Euch in diesem Jahr zusätzlich auf ein spektakuläres Rahmenprogramm freuen. Abseits der musikalischen Reize steht hierbei vor allem die Szene-Kultur im Mittelpunkt des Geschehens. So facettenreich wie nie zuvor, erwarten Euch hochkarätig besetzte Filmvorführungen, Vorträge, Parties, Lesungen und vieles mehr. Ganz ohne zeitraubende Fußmärsche durch die Stadt und frei Haus im Theater am Tanzbrunnen. Geplant sind im einzelnen:

VORTRÄGE: DR. MARK BENECKE
Als “Der Herr der Maden“ bekannt, gewährt der Kölner Forensikexperte Dr. Mark Benecke einen interessanten Einblick in die Welt der Kriminalbiologie. Dabei erörtert er aufschlussreich die Frage “was macht ein Kriminalbiologe so alles und ist das nicht ekelig?“ und berichtet über “Zwei merkwürdige Fälle mit Insekten auf Leichen.“

MUSICAL COMEDY: OLIVER KLEIN
Oliver Klein präsentiert mit seiner legendären “Rocky Horror Show“ Songs aus dem kultigsten Musical aller Zeiten. Passende Outfits, mit weiteren Showeinlagen vermischt, garantieren für einen heiteren Samstag Nachmittag beim diesjährigen Amphi Festival. Am Sonntag präsentiert der Szene Moderator und Comedian dann weitere Ausschnitte aus seinen Programmen. Neben Star-Parodien wird es auch ein wenig Improvisation und herrliches Kabarett geben. Nach diesem Auftritt sollte keiner mehr behaupten, die Szene hätte keinen Humor...

LESUNG: CHRISTIAN VON ASTER
Sein Geist ist eine Waffe, seine Gedanken die Munition. Mit spitzer Zunge und messerscharfem Verstand liest Christian Aster: “Apocalypse au chocolat - eine gebäckwärtige Geschichte vom Ende der Welt“.

MOVIE: WELLE: ERDBALL
Nach Operation: Zeitsturm“ zeigen Welle: Erdball ihren neuen Spielfilm “Operation: Atahualpa“. Das neue Werk steht in bester Tradition der Klassischen Abenteuerfilme und wird beim Amphi Festival 2010 erstmals in voller Länge vorgestellt!

PRÄSENTATION: ABADDON MYSTICSTORE
Am Sonntag Nachmittag wartet das Abaddon Team im Theater am Tanzbrunnen mit einem großen Modespecial auf. Mehr sei aber an dieser Stelle noch nicht verraten. Lasst Euch einfach überraschen, was der Dresdener Mystic Store für Euch auf die Bühne zaubert!

INTERNATIONALE AFTERSHOWPARTY
Jeweils ab 18 Uhr erwarten Euch im Theater 20 Top-DJ´s aus aller Welt mit ihren individuellen Setlisten, für die ultimative Gothic Party. U.a. mit DJ aus Belgien, England, Griechenland, Italien, Mexico, Polen, und der Schweiz, sowie DJ CHRIS von AGONOIZE, der die große Party am Samstag einläuten wird.

Zusätzlich zu den Attraktionen im Theater begrüßen wir auch das Team von GOTHIC FAMILY.NET wieder herzlich auf dem Amphi Festival. LECTURES: DR. MARK BENECKE
Known as “Der Herr der Maden“ (The Lord of the Maggots) Dr. Mark Benecke, who is an adept at forensic studies from Cologne, gives an interesting insight into the world of forensic biology. In doing so he discusses the question: “What does a forensic biologist do and isn’t it disgusting?” and he also reports of “Two strange cases with insects on dead bodies.”

MUSICAL COMEDY: OLIVER KLEIN
With his legendary “Rocky Horror Show“, Oliver Klein presents songs from the grooviest musicals of all times. Adequate outfits mixed with other show elements will guarantee for a cheerful Saturday afternoon at this year’s Amphi Festival. On Sunday the scene-anchorman and comedian will present more extracts from his programmes. In addition to the star parodies there will also be a little improvisation and delicious cabaret. After this performance no one shall ever argue that the scene doesn’t have any humor…

READING: CHRISTIAN VON ASTER
His spirit is a weapon, his thoughts are the ammunition. With a sharp tongue and a keen mind Christian von Aster reads: “Apocalypse au chocolat - eine gebäckwärtige Geschichte vom Ende der Welt“ (apocalypse au chocolat – a bakewards story of the end of the world)

MOVIE: WELLE: ERDBALL
After “Operation: Zeitsturm“ Welle: Erdball will present their new movie “Operation: Atahualpa“. The new creation stands in the best tradition of the classical adventure movies and will be shown for the first time in full length at the Amphi Festival 2010.

PRESENTATION: ABADDON MYSTICSTORE
The Abaddon team comes up with a big fashion special on Sunday afternoon at the theatre of the Tanzbrunnen. We won’t say much more now, just wait and see, what the Mystic Store from Dresden will be conjuring for you on stage!

INTERNATIONAL AFTERSHOWPARTY
Starting every day at 6pm, a total of 20 top DJs from all over the world expect you with their individual set lists for the ultimate gothic party in the theatre. Among them we have DJs from Belgium, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Poland and Switzerland plus DJ CHRIS of AGONOIZE who will ring in the big party on Saturday.

Additionally to the attractions in the theatre we again welcome the team of GOTHIC FAMILY.NET on the Amphi Festival. Their lovingly arranged kids programme also bestows a blackcolourful festival weekend of a special kind to our small Amphi fans. For the adults the Amphi Festival keeps the fitting sand pit as well. At least we recommend risking a side trip to our BEACH CLUB. 3500 m² of a sandy beach, comfortable canvas chairs and seductive beach bars provide a unique holiday feeling alongside the Rhine. It suits perfectly to get new strength for the next concert highlight! Last but not least the AUTOGRAPH SESSIONS with numerous artists and the large
SHOPPING MILE will complete the supporting programme of this year’s festival.

Liebe Amphi Fans, liebe Bands,
die schwarze Szene gehört seit vielen Jahren zu den kreativsten und vielschichtigsten Strömungen der zeitgenössischen Musikwelt. Viele moderne Acts und alte Helden haben bewiesen, wie viel spannender und facettenreicher das musikalische Geschehen abseits des Mainstreams ist.

Mit Entstehung der Szene-Open Airs und ihrer Blockbuster Line-Ups, wuchs in den vergangenen Jahren auch der Wunsch dort mehr junge und frische Talente entdecken zu können, welche vor einem breit gefächerten Publikum ihre große Chance erhalten. Dieser Wunsch geht nun mit dem AMPHI FESTIVAL NEW TALENTS SPECIAL in Erfüllung.

Wer eröffnet das Amphi Festival 2010 auf der Hauptbühne?

So lautet die Frage, die Ihr am Freitag den 23.07.2010 im Theater am Tanzbrunnen beantworten könnt, wenn vier junge Bands, für einen karitativen Zweck antreten, und zugunsten des Vereins zur Betreuung von Missbrauchsopfern, „Dunkelziffer e.V.“, um die letzte noch offene Spielposition des Amphi Festivals kämpfen.

Der Wettbewerb:
Im Rahmen des AMPHI FESTIVAL NEW TALENTS SPECIAL treten 4 Newcomerbands im musikalischen Wettstreit um die letzte Spielposition des Amphi Festivals 2010 an!
Die Gewinnerband wird das Amphi Festival am Samstag den 24.07. auf der Hauptbühne eröffnen!

Teilnahme:
Ab dem 01.05. versteigern wir jede Woche eine Teilnahmeposition über Ebay. Das höchste Gebot pro Versteigerung erhält den Zuschlag. Die Running Order des Wettbewerbs ergibt sich aus den Höchstgeboten aller 4 Versteigerungen. Die Versteigerung mit dem niedrigsten Gebot eröffnet den Abend, die Versteigerung mit dem höchsten Gebot beschließt ihn.

Vorraussetzung für die Teilnahme am Wettbewerb:
- ein Amphi Festival kompatibler Musikstil (u. a. Gothic, Electronic, Mittelalter, etc. … )
- es liegt kein vorhergehender oder laufender Plattenvertrag vor!
- im Eigenvertrieb darf maximal ein Debütalbum veröffentlicht worden sein!
- es müssen bereits öffentliche Auftritte absolviert worden sein, die nachzuweisen sind.

Modus:
Jede der 4 Bands erhält 30 Minuten Spielzeit. Das Publikum entscheidet anschließend mit barer Münze! Die Band, mit der größten Kollekte gewinnt die letzte Spielposition im Programm des Amphi Festivals 2010.

Erlös:
Die Einnahmen der Ebay Versteigerungen, sowie die Kollekte des Abends werden je zur Hälfte zur Deckung der Produktionskosten verwendet und zugunsten des Vereins für Missbrauchsopfer „Dunkelziffer e.V.“ gespendet.

the gothic scene has shown to be one of the most imaginative and diverse streams in the contemporary world of music. Many modern acts and old heroes have proven how much more enthralling and manifold the musical spirit dwells aside from the common mainstream.

With the rise of the big scene open-airs and their blockbuster line-ups, also the wish of experiencing and exploring more young and fresh talents came to life and grew constantly bigger, in order to give these bands a chance to present themselves to a broad audience. With the AMPHI FESTIVAL NEW TALENTS SPECIAL this wish will finally be fulfilled.

Who opens the Amphi Festival 2010 on the main stage?

That´s the question, which you are chosen to answer on Friday 23rd July 2010 at the „Theater am Tanzbrunnen“, when four young bands are going to rock for a charitable act, in support of “Dunkelziffer e.V.”, an association that supports victims of sexual abuse, and to compete for the last remaining slot of the Amphi Festival 2010.

Accordingly, we summarized everything worth knowing about this exciting contest for you beneath:

Wristband exchange: starting from 04:00 pm
Open doors: 07:00 pm

End: around midnight / followed by the official “Amphi Pre-Party” at the “Alter Wartesaal”
Entrance: for visitors with a valid Amphi Festival ticket only!

The competition:
In the context of the AMPHI FESTIVAL NEW TALENTS SPECIAL four newcomer bands will be fighting in a competition of one against the other, for the last remaining slot on the Amphi Festival 2010. The winning band will be opening the Amphi Festival on the main stage on Saturday.

Participation:
From 1st May we will be auctioning one participation-slot on Ebay every week. The best offer at each auction will be awarded with one of four participation-slots. The running order of the competition results from the highest bid of all four auctions. The auction with the lowest bid will be opening the evening, the auction with the highest bid will mark the closure.

Participation requirements:
- a music style that is compatible to the Amphi Festival (i.e. Gothic, Electronic, Middle Ages, etc….)!
- only bands without a past or present record deal are entitled to participate!
- you must not have released more than a self-distributed debut album!
- you have to prove that you have already performed on stage in public!

Modus:
Each of the four bands gets 30 minutes of play time. At the end the audience will be deciding by hard cash! The band that collected the highest amount of money will be awarded with the last slot in the programme of the Amphi Festival 2010.

Returns:
The gains from the Ebay auction plus the collection of the evening will be divided as follows:
One half will be covering the costs for the evening, the other half will be donated to the “Dunkelziffer e.V.”, an association that supports victims of sexual abuse.

Neue Bandbestätigungen: SKINNY PUPPY & SAMSAS TRAUM!

Liebe Amphi Fans,
mit den besten Wünschen für 2010 begrüßen wir heute das neue Jahrzehnt mit einem donnernden Salut in Form zweier neuer Bandbestätigungen. 31 Künstler haben bereits ihren Auftritt beim VI. Amphi Festival zugesagt und nachdem sich kurz vor Weihnachten schon die EBM Veteranen FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY für das Amphi 2010 ankündigt haben, lag die Messlatte hoch für unsere beiden Neuankömmlinge, die buchstäblich Träume erfüllen:

Beheimatet im kanadischen Vancouver, wetzen die Jungs von SKINNY PUPPY schon die Messer für ihren ersten Amphi Festival Auftritt. Die experimentierfreudigen Kanadier faszinieren seit 1982 weltweit ihre treue Fangemeinde mit ausgefeilten Klangcollagen auf dem schmalen Grat zwischen wahnsinniger Genialität und genialem Wahnsinn. Spätestens wenn die Soundhexer auf der Amphi-Bühne zum Breitwand-Inferno ansetzen, entfesseln cEvin Key und Nivek Ogre ein mitreißendes audiovisuelles Spektakel, das Ihr Euch auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen dürft!

Derweil könnte der Titel des aktuellen SAMSAS TRAUM Albums „13 Jahre dagegen, Anti bis zum Tod…“ nicht treffender gewählt sein. Für die Einen ein exzentrisches „Enfant terrible“ für die Anderen ein genialer Geist mit musikalischem Weitblick, gehört Alexander Kaschte, als musikalischer Kopf hinter Samsas Traum, zu den wenigen Künstlern, die sich nicht davor scheuen für die Verwirklichung ihrer Vision auch mal anzuecken. Ein musikalischer Januskopf der sich, mal als poetischer Geschichtenerzähler, mal als kompromissloser Rocker stets auf dem Streifzug durch musikalisches Neuland befindet und drei Jahre nach seinem letzten Auftritt am Kölner Tanzbrunnen zurückkehrt, um von den Erlebnissen seiner Reisen zu berichten.

wishing you all the best for 2010 we embrace the new decade with a rumbling salute of two outstanding new band confirmations for the 6th Amphi Festival. While 31 artists already have confirmed their appearance, including the EBM veterans FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY, signing in just before Christmas, the bar rests high for our second to last new arrivals, which still literally let dreams come true:

New band confirmations: SKINNY PUPPY & SAMSAS TRAUM!

Based in their hometown Vancouver the boys from SKINNY PUPPY are already grinding the blades for their first Amphi Festival show. The Canadians, never shy for innovative sound design and stunning arrangements, are fascinating their faithful following worldwide, since 1982, walking razor´s edge between ingenius insanity and insane genius. When the sound wizards enter the Amphi stage for their epic inferno, cEvin Key and Nivek Ogre will take you along the journey with an enthralling audiovisual spectacle, you cannot afford to miss!

Meanwhile the title of the latest SAMSAS TRAUM album „13 Jahre dagegen, Anti bis zum Tod…“ (13 years against, opposing until we die…) was cautiously chosen. For the ones an excentric enfant terrible for the others an ingenius mind with bold musical foresight, mastermind Alexander Kaschte belongs to the remaining few artists not afraid to upset people for their artistic vision. A Janushead who, a poetic storyteller now – then again turns into an uncompromising rocker, driven by the secrets of yet undiscovered places, revealed with every note.

A short glimpse into the future!

A lot of things are going on these days. While the live-programme of the 6th Amphi Festival, prospered to near completion with only one band missing, we are currently working on an extended supporting programme to be revealed in the next couple of weeks. As a prelude to the Amphi 2010 there will be numerous warm-up parties with lotteries and much more nationwide. The first dates are going to be announced soon. Finally the Zita Rock & Folk Festival and E-tropolis Festival in Berlin, are just about to spawn new band announcements as well. Stay curious as we proceed!

The DVD of the festival!

As a part of the extensive Orkus retrospective, also the first Amphi Festival DVD sees the light of day, visually and acoustically capturing last year's spectacle. Numerous live clips (Eisbrecher, Saltatio Mortis, Laibach, Front 242, Covenant, to name just a few), exclusive interviews with many participating artists, countless festival impressions as well as an unforgettable and truly unique round tour of the festival premises with Eisbrecher chief Alexander "Alexx" Wesselsky resurrect our fifth Amphi Festival at home as well as boost the anticipation for this year's event.

an exciting year 2009 comes to a close and with the annual Christmas fest it is time for a well earned break, with these days of peace and leisure. Thus the entire protain and Amphi Festival Team wishes you merry Christmas, a happy new year and all your dreams, wishes and aims for the new year to come true!
Also it is our heartfelt wish to thank all people and helping hands who have supported us tremendously throughout this year. We promise 2010 to be an even more exciting year than the latter, with moody club shows and spectacular festivals alike.

The Christmas Ball Festivals 2009 – Cologne and Hannover almost sold out!

On 25th , 26th and 27th December 2009 the Christmas Ball Festivals open their doors in Cologne, Würzburg and Hannover. With the stellar line-up, featuring COVENANT, SUICIDE COMMANDO, WELLE:ERDBALL, DESTROID and FRONT 242 as exclusive headliner in Hannover, we´re awaiting one hell of a Christmas celebration!
But grandiosity takes its toll, as the tickets for Cologne (25.12.) and Hannover (27.12.) are getting very short by now. If you haven´t secured your ticket yet, now is the time!
