David Knopfler

David Knopfler first gained notoriety as a founding member of Rock Royalty, Dire Straits, but it wasn't long before he found himself wanting a change. After three years with Dire Straits, David departed in order to pursue a solo career - a career that has taken him around the world, and the music industry. Since 1983, Knopfler has released thirteen solo albums, scored several films, and worked integrally with several indie labels. Knopfler's uncompromising and adventurous spirit comes down to a love of his craft. Say's Knopfler, “I don’t regard what I do as remotely glamorous. I write, record and perform my music because I completely love doing it and despite any so called celebrity status that sometimes comes with the job.”
