Bringing in its fourth year of LIFE will be the biggest party yet. An outdoor all day mini music festival that will showcase of one of the biggest lineups of Aussie bands ever to hit Wollongong. Accompanied by some mind-altering art, projection displays and a killer outdoor location (right by the beach) this is set to be the most exciting and elaborate Yours & Owls event yet. Seriously do yourself a favor and join the revolution; this is what the leisure coast is all about. Chillin’ & dreamin’.

It was four years ago that three young and quite possibly naïve ‘business men’ (we use the term loosely) from the northern suburbs got together and opened their idea of what they thought Wollongong should be.
Wollongong didn’t have the sort of nightlife they wanted. So growing tired of that last/first train home, south from the city and the other mundanity that Wollongong’s “Night Life” supposedly had on offer, they decided it was time to open something new and different and a little closer to home. It was a moment of ignorant bliss in its truest form and from it; something honest and beautiful was born. Yours & Owls. An art gallery café, come dive bar music venue.
Knowing nothing about business or the necessity for punctuality & routine in a service based industry the boys jumped straight and in a bumbled mess slowly made their way into what is now known across the country as one of the finest small live music venues in Australia. Whilst Y&O did manage to stay open and survive those all telling formative years, it wasn’t without its fair (or unfair) share of ups & downs and controversy… We have the newspaper articles and a justfully thrown out court case to prove it J
Four years on and Wollongong’s nightlife has certainly evolved. Yours & Owls morphed into RAD and took on a new role, a whole swag of new bars opened up, there’s more music and art and the city is beginning to feel culturally alive again. Most importantly however, is that Yours & Owls is still going and doing its best to do what it does and proverbially chill to some good live tunes. So come join us down by the beach and enjoy some great live bands, art, tasty food and a nice cold beverage to wash it all down.
