The SPCO celebrates the centenary of Benjamin Britten, one of the twentieth century’s definitive musical voices, with a three-week Britten festival. The centerpiece of this first of three programs is Britten’s penetrating Lachrymae for viola and strings, featuring SPCO Principal Violist Maiya Papach as soloist and director. Also on this program are Britten's String Quartet No. 2 and Haydn's inventive Clock Symphony, led by SPCO concertmaster Steven Copes.
