Two long years have passed since The Thermals, a “post-pop-punk trio” from a “pre-Portlandia-Portland, Oregon” last graced a London stage. Their return coincides with the release of their sixth album, Desperate Ground and first for the Saddle Creek label, described as “a true scrappy-and-scratchy return-to-form.” Guaranteed to perform an average of twenty “short, fast, loud and violent” songs in an hour, summer wouldn’t be complete without the raw, soul-energy and sweat drenched bodies of The Thermals.
