Latin music legend-and native New Yorker-Johnny Colon will revisit his sals and boogaloo roots when he performs with his orchestra, paying homage to their long-running boogaloo sets at the Village Gate, at Le Poisson Rouge on Wed. April 25. The evening will also feature Latin boogaloo specialist DJ Turmix spinning vinyl-only sets, and an opening set by NYC's hot young boogaloo band Spanglish Fly, and will benefit the East Harlem Music School. The evening serves as a preview of—and a chance to win tickets to—Johnny Colon and DJ Turmix’s appearance at Lincoln Center’s outdoor dance party, Midsummer Night Swing, in July 2012.
