Blind Atlas
http://www.myspace.com/blindatlas
Hailing from Denver and disparate points around the UK, BLIND ATLAS concoct a new take on American alternative country and classic British rock ‘n’ roll; taking inspiration from The Rolling Stones to Townes Van Zandt right through to artists such as Calexico and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy.
Familiar faces on the Manchester circuit, BLIND ATLAS have notched up headline slots at some of the most iconic venues in the city, as well as supporting the likes of Liam Frost, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Deadstring Brothers, The Features, The Acorn, The Travelling Band, The Bees and Blitzen Trapper.
Chloe Charles
http://www.myspace.com/chloecharles
Charles prides herself on change and experimentation and thus ensures every performance is unique in arrangement and instrumentation. A haunting vocalist-songwriter, Charles draws from many genres, hinting to various inspirations coupled with chamber folk and subtle, sombre soul music. Expressing her genre as indie art folk she receives comparisons to Cat Power, Erykah Badu, Joanna Newsom, Etta James, Bjork, even Joni Mitchell. Charles’s lilting, rich alto is striking and powerful.
“Chloe Charles’s voice defies categorization and is absolutely riveting. I still don’t know where she came from and more importantly, why she isn’t signed to a label yet - but hers is a major new talent.” SLUG MAGAZINE
