Originally scattered through Illinois, Fall Out Boy formed in the early days of 2001, eventually releasing a mini-album in 2003 titled Evening Out With Your Girlfriend, a title worthy of what would become their trademark sense of humour. They broke onto MTV with From Under The Cork Tree, which spawned hit singles 'Sugar, We're Going Down' and 'Dance, Dance', and the four-piece has since become a radio fixture and a highly-billed act at music festivals around the world.
Following the flop viral campaign Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz initiated last year (Citizens For Our Betterment) Folie à Deux was released in December 2008, featuring appearances by Pharrell, Panic! at the Disco and Debbie Harry. It was a critical success, and landed the band a slot on blink-182's reunion tour line-up as well as several hundred thousand scrobbles. Track 'What a Catch, Donnie' featured an epic array of collaborators, including Elvis Costello, and boasted a suitably epic promo to accompany it.
Listening has tapered off over the last tweleve months, but you've returned to the band's back catalogue in the weeks following the release of 'Believers Never Die', a greatest hits collection that will doubtless see the band touring in 2010.
